My name is Frans van Lenten, I have been employed for more than 7 years at Global Automotive Investments Holding where I work as a Junior Buyer for the company label ‘Van Den Ban Autobanden’.
7 years ago, after my logistics internship at VDB, I started working as a warehouse employee. 2 years later I moved on to the Truck tyre warehouse where I handled the incoming returns and claims. After 9 months I took matters into my own hands and applied for the internal vacancy ‘Purchasing Assistant’ at the Purchasing Department. In the years that I held this position, I progressed step by step to my current position.
As junior buyer, I am responsible for a number of tyre brands within our group. At our location in Hellevoetsluis, I ensure a good balance between stock and turnover for the brands that fall under my management. It is a challenging job in which you always have to stay sharp and in which I sometimes get completely absorbed in my tasks.
The organisation has a flat structure and you can always approach the management if you have questions or comments. Besides, there is always room for a little joke, not to mention the Friday afternoon drinks in our own bar on the 3rd floor! The market in which we operate is constantly changing, but so is our company, so we always stay “ahead of the curve”.
